Bringing South Bristol's parks to life

Thanks to funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, we are working with local people and park volunteers to create new, nature rich habitats and make 10 parks in South Bristol more welcoming and inclusive.

Withywood Park

Friends of Park Groups and volunteers are the lifeblood of our green spaces. They are the people that go the extra mile to bring their parks to life.

We are working with park groups and volunteers in South Bristol to bring their ambitions for their park to life.

If you are interested in getting involved in a South Bristol park, you are a group with a new idea or you have a challenge you'd like to talk through. Please get in touch.

Creating inclusive, welcoming and nature rich parks

Cottle Road

Working with Bristol City Council and local volunteers, we are leading a programme of changes in several community parks over the next three years:

  • Withywood Park
  • Wilmott Park
  • Cottle Road Green Space
  • Hartcliffe Millennium Green
  • Manor Woods Valley

We are working with local communities to find out what they need from their parks and leading a practical programme of improvements with volunteers.

Join us to create parks loved by people and wildlife.

Supporting biodiversity on wilder sites

Scything

We are excited to be working with two wonderful groups of conservation volunteers who have dedicated years to improving the biodiversity of several South Bristol sites, keeping these wilder areas biodiverse and nature rich.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we are at different nature reserves getting stuck into conservation management work at several key sites that provide vital habitats connecting the city to the local countryside.

  • Stockwood Open Space
  • Northern Slopes
  • Dundry Slopes
  • Hengrove Mounds and Hawkfield Meadows

If you love nature, crave more time outdoors, and want to make a difference, all while learning new skills, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!

You don’t need any experience, just your passion and energy and a willingness to learn. To get involved, get in touch.
