One in eight UK households don't have access to a garden.
Our impact
Around 30% of the people we support live in high-rise social housing.
After engaging with our work:
- 94% of people now feel able to connect with others
- 80% feel they now belong to their community
- 70% understand more about can make a difference to the local environment
For parks
Our work complements Bristol and Bath’s Clean Air Zones with nature-based climate solutions which increase carbon absorption and offsets emissions. By planting 600 trees in Brickfields alone, we can mitigate over 10,000 tonnes of carbon over the trees’ lifetime.
Where we plant wildflower meadows, grass only needs to be cut once per year (versus around eight times) saving more than 88lbs per year. As we have achieved on College Green, these cuts can also be replaced by scything, eliminating carbon emissions from cutting altogether.
