Work has started!
As part of our Reimagining Parks campaign we are working with local Disabled people, carers and the Friends of Hartcliffe Millennium Green to make the park more accessible for Disabled people and carers.
Together we created an Action Plan to make the park more accessible and following some successful fundraising, the first round of work is now starting.
Reimagining Hartcliffe Millennium Green
We worked with local Disabled people and carers to find out how to make Hartcliffe Millennium Green a place they visit more.
This involved looking at what what would make them want to come to the park as well as what they need to make that possible.
The group came up with a long list of recommendations that made the Hartcliffe Millennium Green Access Action Plan.
Work has started
We have worked with Bristol City Council to bring these ideas to life. Contractors are now on site working on the entrance and community garden area to introduce:
- A new accessible entrance
- Additional seating with handrail from entrance
- Resurfacing of entrance & community garden
- A new community notice board
- New raised planters
- A sensory plant bed
- Shelter over the new seating area
