Meet the Nature & Community Team
Nature rich parks are vital for biodiversity and for community health and wellbeing. Our Nature & Community team work with local people to create plans to enhance parks for nature, making them more welcoming to people and wildlife alike.
Carol

Carol is our Nature & Community Lead for Bath.
Carol is a qualified horticulturalist, ecologist and tutor with experience managing community spaces with volunteers. Carol is passionate about creating opportunities for people to enjoy their parks where we can all go for some breathing space, time out, playing sport, having fun with friends and family, watching wildlife.
Carol is a keen botanist, forager and nature spotter and loves exploring, cycling and hiking further afield. In her spare time Carol has an organic, no-dig allotment and helps manage a community garden and food forest in Bath.
Carol says "Our public green spaces are where we can take some time for ourselves, connect with each other and share space with nature. Everyone gains from cleaner air, accessible and well-managed open spaces, where people and wildlife can thrive”.
Rachel

Rachel is our Nature & Community Lead for Bristol and leads a programme of habitat enhancement projects, working with community members across the city.
She has a background working on environmental and community projects since completing her degree in Environmental Science. More recently she has completed training in horticulture to supplement her passion for improving parks and green spaces for both people and wildlife.
In her spare time Rachel enjoys live music, walking her dog, and spending time with friends and family.
Rachel says, "Parks can bring communities together and help biodiversity thrive in our towns and cities. Helping to look after them in turn helps our own wellbeing - which is invaluable!"
