A new Deaf group to get out in nature
Together with The Centre for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People, we want to start a new Deaf-led group in Bristol’s parks.
The idea is simple: a friendly space where Deaf people can come together, use BSL as the main language, and enjoy being outdoors. It’s about fresh air, connection, and having fun in nature.
What will we do?

Well, that’s up to you. We’ve thought about things like:
-
Strolling through the park on a nature walk
-
Planting flowers and herbs to support wildlife
-
Caring for woodlands and grasslands
-
Getting creative with nature photography
But really, the activities will be shaped by what the group wants.
The sessions will be free, relaxed and always welcoming. Interpreters will be there if we invite outside speakers, but this is a Deaf-led space.
How to join in

If this sounds like something for you, we’d love you to come along to our first get-together. That way we can hear your ideas and build the group together.
