Branching Out: A morning of connection and nature inspiration
Last Sunday, we were proud to see Branching Out: Networking & Learning come to life. We welcomed 70 park volunteers along with community organisations and expert speakers to the Trinity Centre in Old Market, Bristol.
What we set out to do

The day was designed around three aims:
- Share practical skills - from habitat creation to inclusive community engagement
- Build connections - between local groups, volunteers, and organisations
- Inspire collaboration - for greener, more welcoming parks across Bristol
Our highlights

Talks, workshops, and stalls brought these aims to life:
- Our expert speakers shared valuable insights across a range of themes.
- Stalls from groups such as Street Goat and the University of Bristol Community Engaged Learning team.
- Attendees were invited to share their pledges - from raising £10,000 for conservation at Troopers Hill, to planting daffodils, or simply spending more time appreciating nature.
Throughout the event, we saw new connections forming, skills being shared and fresh ideas taking root.

We would also like to thank those stallholders, florist friends and everyone who contributed their energy, ideas, and enthusiasm.
A special thanks goes to the West of England Combined Authority Green Recovery Fund, whose support made the event possible.
Looking forward

As seasons change, we look forward to seeing Bristol’s parks flourish as pledges become action.
For us, Branching Out wasn’t just one day but part of our pledge to create new relationships and support our communities to improve the quality, accessibility and value of our parks and green spaces across both Bristol and Bath.
