Making our parks better for disabled people and carers

In early 2022 we commissioned research to understand the experiences of unpaid carers and disabled people when spending time in our local parks.

New research

Bristol wheelchair

Participants showed a real commitment to visiting parks because they experienced huge health and wellbeing benefits following a successful trip. However, they also had to overcome a huge range of challenges and barriers that could feel insurmountable.

Our report will be published in November 2022 thanks to Quartet Community Foundation.

Joining together

Disabled three ways

We're bringing together organisations, groups and individuals working in Bristol and Bath, who are interested in improving access to parks for disabled people and unpaid carers.

  • Date: Wednesday 19 October 2022
  • Time: 2-3.30pm
  • Location: Zoom

Hear about the research, share and learn about work taking place and identify shared goals and opportunities that will help unpaid carers and disabled people spend more time in parks.
