Sunflower planting and sensory walks
On Tuesday 7th April, we ran an inclusive planting and craft session at Horfield Common in Bristol.
We worked with SENDaWelcome to bring together Disabled adults and carers for a relaxed, creative morning in nature.
Inclusive activities
Horfield Common is a welcoming park with a well-loved community garden with accessible paths and facilities.
Participants got hands-on planting sunflower seeds, using accessible tools designed to ensure everyone could take part comfortably.
Alongside planting, the group enjoyed a range of creative craft activities, encouraging self-expression and connection.
Exploring Horfield Common
A highlight of the session was the Sensory Walk around the garden space an opportunity to slow down, explore textures, colours and scents, and engage with nature in an inclusive and meaningful way.
Get involved
We are passionate about creating opportunities for everyone to access and enjoy green spaces.
As a charity, we work to bring communities together and ensure parks are inclusive, welcoming places for all, particularly those who may face barriers to access.
