New sensory garden brings calm and connection to Bristol’s Hartcliffe Millennium Green

At Your Park Bristol & Bath, we believe that everyone deserves access to parks' transformational health benefits. That’s why we’re proud to unveil our brand new sensory garden at Hartcliffe Millennium Green which has been designed with Disabled people and unpaid carers. And, it's all supported through Your Park's partnership with National Grid Electricity Distribution.

Thank you NGED

We’ve designed this garden with people with a wide range of disabilities and impairments. The amazing support of National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) and hands-on help from a group of their employees has allowed us to bring the garden to life.

Together, we’re now in the second year of a powerful partnership to transform parks across Bristol and Bath. NGED’s staff joined us to plant up the garden themselves, and their enthusiasm and energy made a huge impact.

“Seeing our team create a space that brings comfort, dignity and connection to Disabled people is incredibly rewarding,” said Emily Green, NGED’s volunteering & sponsorship co-ordinator.

Parks 4 All

NG 2

This garden is part of our wider Reimagining Parks campaign which kickstarted work to launch Parks 4 All.

Across Bristol and Bath, we’re redesigning parks with not for Disabled people, families, carers and local communities. From accessible paths and sensory planting to inclusive events and social activities, we’re creating spaces where everyone can thrive.

We know the need is real. Around 30% of people in our area live in high-rise housing without access to gardens, and 57% report feeling socially isolated. Accessible, welcoming parks can change lives and we’re committed to making that happen.

With continued backing from partners, our vision is becoming reality

Amber Fisher, Your Park’s Head of Partnerships , said:

“We’re so excited to be working with NGED again this year. Their team’s passion and willingness to get stuck into making parks better places for all is second to none.

Your Park’s vision is for everyone to benefit from parks’ transformative health benefits. With continued backing from partners like NGED, our vision is becoming reality.”
