Sensory Walks: experience your local park in a new way
Sensory Walks offer a different way to experience green space. They invite you to slow down and engage with your surroundings through your senses.
That might mean noticing birdsong, feeling different textures, observing colours and movement, or taking in the scents of the natural environment.
This approach has been shown to support wellbeing, reduce stress and experience the outdoors in a new way.
Upcoming walks and activities:
Join us for a Over 55s Sensory Tree Walk at Oldbury Court, hosted by Friends of Oldbury Court, Bristol Older People's Forum and Your Park Bristol and Bath.
Thursday 29th October
We’ll follow Oldbury Court’s Tree Trail, learn about the trees and take time to explore our surroundings through our different senses.
The main walk is around 30 minutes and follows a wide, smooth and relatively flat path suitable for wheelchair users. There will also be an optional 30-minute extended walk for those who would like to go further.
Afterwards, we’ll meet at the Oldbury Court Kiosk for refreshments, kindly provided by Bristol Older People's Forum.
