Volunteering opportunity for Disabled people and carers

Our mission at Your Park is to make parks and green spaces welcoming and accessible to everyone.

We work with local people to improve access to parks. We help remove barriers that make parks hard to use. We listen to people and support their ideas, so parks work better for everyone.

We create accessible activities, inclusive events and volunteering opportunities in local parks. We also believe in creating accessible activities, events and volunteering opportunities in local parks, for Disabled people in Bristol and Bath.

One volunteering activity that we are championing this year is Sensory Walk Guides.

What is a Sensory Walk?

WEBSITE TEMPLATE HERO

Sensory Walks help people explore a park or green space using their senses. During the walk, people are encouraged take time to smell the flowers, touch tree bark, and listen to the sounds of water or birds.

Sensory Walks help people connect with nature. They can help people feel calm and relaxed.

The Sensory Walk Guide volunteer opportunity is for Disabled people or unpaid carers to lead a Sensory Walk in their local park.

Your Park will help to create a map of the walk and share information about it to local people. This will help local people find out about the Sensory Walk and will help people come along and join in.
